The First Meeting with Host Families

ホストファミリーとの初顔合わせ(中学棟)

Australian students' impression on the first day in Japan.

Today was my first day in Japan, when we arrived, our english speaking tour guide took us on a morning sight seeing of Tokyo. Firstly we saw Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace, Asakusa, Ginza Districts, Akihabara and "The Baseman". We managed to take many photos. Afterwards we arrived at Kasukabe Kyoei High School and met with our host families. The people at Kasukabe Kyoei were very nice when Westfields Sports arrived. The Welcome Party was great. My host family is also very nice. -- Jancy Tan

Today has been my first day in Japan and as a foreign exchange student. This experience has allowed me to engage in various aspects of a different culture. First of all, after a long awaited flight, a few fellow students and I were taken on a tour of Tokyo. We visited shrines, temples and main tourist attractions such as Ginza and Akihabara. It was an enjoyable and educational experience, which allowed us to build on our Japanese. Furthermore, being placed with a host family provides a thrilling challenge. -- Stephen Du

Australian students' impression on the second day in Japan.

Today we cultural students experienced some Japanese culture. We visited the doll factory where they produce 100 of dolls per day. It was very fun and interesting experience. When we came back, we met the English class of the second year senior high. We watched a movie on Japanese theatre and we presented a Powerpoint on Australia. In the afternoon I experienced the training of a Japanese basketball team. This was very interesting. -- Benjamin Vong

Today was very interesting. We met the baseball tour group at the school and made on way to the "Sakata Japanese Doll Factory". There we witnessed these beautiful dolls being hand made and crafted. After coming back at Kasukabe Kyoei. Lorraine, Jancy and myself attended an awesome cultural lesson about tea ceremonies in Japan. Very fun, but my ankles got sore from all the kneeling. The three of us also joined in on a calligraphy class and did some writing. -- Linh Le

The Students and Teachers in the Bus going on the Trip to Tokyo Disneyland

Australian students' impression on the third day in Japan.

Going to Tokyo Disneyland was an wonderful experience. After arriving at Kasukabe Kyoei, the Australian students and teachers drove 1 hour to Disneyland by bus. Arriving at the theme park was exciting. I can't believe how many rides there are. But because time was unfortunately limited, my friends and I were only able to try, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, Jungle Cruise, Castle Carousel, Space Mountain, Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin, Buzzlightyear's Astro Blasters and the tea cupride. Souvenier shopping was also limited, but I did buy a few things. In Disneyland, students were able to enjoy the most of Japan's tourist attractions. -- Lorraine Bou

Today, I was able to go to Tokyo Disneyland. It was a fun but tiring. Disneyland is filled with an abundance of things to do. My friends, teachers and I were able to ride most of the popular attractions, such as Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. These two rides were really thrilling. Not only does Tokyo Disneyland have great rides, it also has spectacular scenary, delicious food and fantastic souvenier shops. To sum it up, I had a stellar experience. -- Stephan Du

Australian students' impression on the fourth day in Japan.

Today was the last day at Kasukabe Kyoei High School. The day started with us cultural students going with the 3rd year senior high students. We introduced ourselves in front of their homeroom and then we headed off in groups for a tour of some subjects. After this it was time for P.E. Girls did volleyball and boys did Judo but we were only allowed to watch. Next we had lunch with the 3rd years. I sat with my group and met this very nice girl named Shima. We played cards and after we went to cooking. At cooking we made sushi. My groups showed me how to do it and it was great fun. Next was our farewell party. We were presented with gift by the principal and we had a great feast. These past few days at Kasukabe Kyoei have been great. I wish I could stay here for at least another week. I hope to come back to Kasukabe Kyoei in the future. -- Benjamin Vong

Australian students' impression on the fifth day in Japan.

Today instead of going to Nikko with Kasukabe and my fellow cultural students, I went to Harajuku with my host sister and a few friends. It was amazing to see so many trends and styles packed in one narrow street. The best part must've been the peculiar costumes and wacky hair styles. I must say Japan is a very unique country with even more unique people. I enjoyed today extremely as it has inspired me, as I wish to become an international fashion designer. -- Lorraine Bou
